English anatomist, born March 30, 1876, Manchester.

A rare form of hereditary blindness resulting from severe retinal malformations, opacity of the lens and atrophy of the iris.





Biography:
Samuel Ernest Whitnall obtained his doctorate at Oxford in 1907 and worked there 1908-1919 as demonstrator of anatomy, 1908 becoming L. Royal College of Physicians, London. In 1919 he was called to the McGill University as professor of anatomy.
